Robert is a finance professional with 18 years of experience in investment banking, corporate actions and pricing, deal structuring, real estate and valuation.

Before founding Africorn Advisory, he held various senior positions at NCBA, Citi, Columbus-Ohio, Alliance Data Systems, Westerville Ohio, and the FFK Group.

Robert brings along an extensive cross-border experience and relationships across different industries and sectors. He has a wealth of experience, having also done extensive transactions and advisories across various global and local platforms.

Transaction Highlights

Responsible for investment portfolios of over $1.8B across North America and Dublin, Ireland. Additionally, Robert has advised on various commercialization initiatives, aiding in the creation of financial models, creation of centers of excellence, and intensive deal structuring and valuation.

Jira holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Business Administration (MBA Finance & Accounting), and is a Certified Public Accountant, CPA(K). Since 2014, Jira has been analyzing energy, power & infrastructure projects with respect to different methods of financing, WACC, IRR, ROE, Payback, and risk mitigation as well as ways to attract investors to long-term projects.

Jira has a strong understanding of developments in the energy, power & infrastructure sectors and has provided business and advisory support to portfolio clients comprising large corporates with interests in the energy, power & infrastructure sectors, Independent Power Producers with interests in Solar, Geothermal, Biomass, Hydro, Waste heat recovery in industrial processes, on-grid and off-grid electrification. He has been involved in negotiating many projects from a commercial point of view and also financial and this also included contract negotiations with EPC Contractors, Owners Engineers, Operation & Maintenance Contractors in power projects.

He has been involved in consultancy Projects that are Multi-Donor Funded or Co-Funded by the Government of Kenya, The World Bank, Africa Development Bank, Agence Française de Développement, the Department for International Development, European Investment Bank, and KfW. Jira possesses Transaction experience with IPP development and engagement with international development finance institutions and is passionate about guiding projects from ideation to financial close and commissioning.
